Opportunities

Willow Place, Land Securities £40 million retail scheme in Corby is now open and trading. Retailers TK Maxx, New Look and Game have reported excellent trading conditions since opening and the scheme has delivered to Corby one of the strongest fashion line-ups in the region.

Created very much with the needs of modern retailing in mind, the first phase of development has seen the construction of two large anchor stores along with a further 20 units in an open street environment of approximately 16,258 sq m (175,000 sq ft).

Focus on Fashion

The scheme has delivered to Corby a strong fashion line-up with a tenant mix that has literally transformed its town centre. Key lettings include River Island, Jane Norman, MK One, Clarks and Arcadia brands Dorothy Perkins, Evans and Burton. They are supported by WHSmith, Superdrug, 3Store, JD Sports and The Body Shop.

Only a few units remain to let, which are outlined on our Leasing Plan and Area Schedule. Click on the links below to view these pages.

Huge Potential

Willow Place draws on a catchment population of 50,000, which is predicted to double to 100,000 over the next 10 years, with a massive 28,000 new homes being built in the borough. Retailers will immediately be able to take advantage of a retail spend of some £90 million per year and trade in a relatively uncompetitive environment.

Phase II and Beyond

Corby has huge potential and Land Securities is fully committed to the regeneration of the town centre. Plans for further phases of renewal and expansion are already in the pipeline with outline planning permission for Phase II having been submitted in January this year. This 330,000 sq ft scheme will include a further 23 retail units, a department store, up to 350 apartments and two new car parks providing up to 1,600 spaces. It is anticipated that work will start on site in 2009 for a late 2011 opening.
