Light up a life in Willow Place - Friday, 30 November 2007
Willow Place shopping centre in Corby is to sponsor this year’s ‘Light up a Life’ service on behalf of the Lakelands Day Hospice.
The event will be held on Sunday, 2 December at 5pm in Queens Square, Corby. It will be attended by the Worshipful the Mayor
of Corby, Cllr Jean Addison, and local MP Phil Hope, Minister for the Third Sector. The service will be conducted by Rev Jan
Collins, the Lakelands Day Hospice Chaplain. Music for the event is being provided by Youth Brass 2000 and choirs from Brooke
Weston CTC and
St Patrick’s School. There will also be traditional carols for everyone to join in.
Lakelands Day Hospice Marketing and Fundraising Manager Jo Plant says: “Light up a Life is a way of reflecting on and celebrating the life of a loved one or someone dear to you during the festive season. We are inviting people to dedicate a light on our Christmas tree. The dedication will be entered into the Book of Remembrance which can be viewed at the Lakelands Emporium in New Post Office Square throughout December.
“To purchase a light, simply complete a Light up a Life dedication form. These are available from the Lakelands Emporium, Willow Place marketing suite in Queens Square and the Town Centre management offices in Spencer Court. You can also ask Willow Place customer relations staff on duty or download a form from the Willow Place web site at www.willowplace.co.uk.”
The event is also being supported by men’s fashion store Burton, one of the latest retailers to open in the £40 million town centre development. In addition to hosting the event, Land Securities will also be dedicating a Christmas tree in Corporation Street in memory of local retailer Keith Owen, manager of the George Allen fashion store, who passed away recently.
