The town centre’s Christmas events programme kicks off with the Lakelands Hospice’s ‘Light up a Life’ ceremony. This year Willow Place is the main sponsor of this popular event.

Lights will be dedicated to the memory of a loved for a financial pledge, and all funds raised will go towards the Lakelands Hospice. The tree will be lit on the 2nd December at a ceremony from 5-6pm at Queens Square.

Youth Brass 2000 will be performing, as will local school choirs.  Local MP Phil Hope will be saying a few words. Do come for an uplifting evening that’s sure to spread joy and cheer.

Refreshments will be provided and free parking will be available in the Willow Place car park for those attending the ceremony.
