Recycling Award

Willow Place and Corby Town Centre Operations Manager Steve Tysoe has recently been awarded the National recycling Awards “Shining Star” award. This is the highest award that can be given by the scheme and reflects Steve’s passion for all things environmental.

Under his stewardship the housekeeping team recycled over 134 tonnes of cardboard, 13 tonnes of plastic and tens of thousands of coat hangers. In addition to extracting these recyclables from the waste produced in the town centre Steve has ensured no waste from Willow Place as gone to landfill.

Centre Director Dan Pickard commented on the award “I’m really proud of what Steve and his team have achieved. It not only recognises the recycling we do, it communicates to the public that we really do care about the environment and aim to minimise our impact with regards to waste.”

Willow Place & Corby Town Centre has been awarded the Gold Star standard for recycling two years in succession and is a former winner of the Pride of Northamptonshire “Transforming the Environment” award.
