Willow Place Community Fund
Willow Place Community Fund was created during the development phase of the shopping centre, as a way of putting back something into the community. To date over 20 local groups and individuals have benefited from the Willow Place Community Fund with grant awards ranging from £250–£1,400. Beneficiaries include drama groups, youth organisations, schools, voluntary groups, charities, sports clubs and welfare bodies. Two local sports champions – one only 11 years old – also received funding to help them represent their country in national tournaments. The fund will continue to contribute to the development of the local community, in and around Corby town centre.
Through other initiatives such as Corby Community Week and working with the local Police service to ensure Willow Place remains a safe and secure environment, Willow Place is helping to make a real difference to Corby town centre and the people who visit.
Furthermore, Willow Place is also proud to be this season's sponsor of the Corby Town Football Club's Youth team.
The fund will continue to contribute to the development of the local community, in and around Corby town centre. A new scheme will be launched in 2008 to field requests for sponsorship and funding. However this will be decided by a panel comprising the new Willow Place retailers and members of the management team. Please watch the press for more details.
Lakelands Hospice
Last Christmas our preferred charity was the Lakelands Hospice, arguably Corby’s biggest independently run local charity.
Willow Place is proud to have doubled the income from fundraising for the hospice and would like to thank all who supported and continue to support the charity.
